Broken Doll Parts

A series of 5 ft by 4.2 ft charcoal drawings, created in fall 2024. In this project, I delved into the complex tension between the internal self and the external body, exploring the interplay of flesh and form. This series confronts the body as a mutable, less-defined entity. Capturing my body’s raw and often messy aspects. The larger-than-life figures work to confront the viewer head-on pushing the feeling of discomfort. Through layered surrealistic representation, I seek to convey the disconnect I feel between my inner and external form.
